Good Food published this great recipe for Cider-brasied pork neck which uses a sweet alcoholic cider. I would suggest that most of the commercial ones would suffice ie. Bulmers, Montieths or something similar.

Virginia Has the Right Idea, Dedicating a Whole Week to Cider - Jaunted Online

A whole week of cider related activities is set to take place from November 15 to 24 in Virginia, USA. The week will include cider pairing sessions and cheese and cider workshops. 






Created after pomace is smoked using maple and applewood chips and then taken to the Middlebury Cidery.  The smoked pomace is then infused into small batch fermented cider.  The result is a full bodied deep amber cider.  Strong crisp apple notes with hints of vanilla are balanced on an applewood smoked backdrop.  A well-balanced, limited run cider that is perfect for the cooler days ahead.
